Here is a Map of the Election results of last Tuesdays Presidential Election.
Hillary won approximately 370 Total Counties (yes I counted them!)with Alaska still not yet Done with results (Alaska has 19 Counties plus 1 that is just Tundra)
There are 3,142 total Counties in the entire USA (Minus Alaska even though Trump Won).
Mean Hillary only won 11.84% of the Counties in the USA!!!!!!
Still Think The Electoral College Needs To Go?
If it was voted out, No Candidate would ever bother to campaign anywhere else besides the Big Population Cities, because the rest would not matter!
Imagine winning 88.16% of the Counties and Lose the Election!
The USA would then become a Pure Democracy and not a Republic, and you can get 51% to go for just about anything with the Media today.
THAT WOULD BE DANGEROUS!
Also the latest polls show 70% of the population do not believe the Media

What you guys appear to be talking about is the first past the post system vs the proportional representation system..
Any of that sound familiar ?
Any of that sound familiar ?
The Electoral College allows every State in the Union "To Be Heard".
A simple straight up and down popularity vote would place us back to Roman era Democracy.
Which in venerable to the old "Bread and Circus" tactics used by the Ruling Class.
A good description of modern "Bread and Circus" is akin to "Show me Something Shiny!" of the short attention span of especially the Youth today in Western Society.
BTW, because of the Mob Rule simple up and down Vote, Rome went from a Democracy to an Imperial Dictatorship with an Emperor name Caesar Octavian....
Once Augustus (Octavian) was voted in as Emperor, the people lost all of their voting power and were ruled by a long series of Emperors until their final demise.
A Democracy is as delicate and dangerous as "touching Butterfly Wings", you don't realize how much damage is done until after it's too late.
If you can print enough Money, and convince the people to get on the Dole, you can get 51% of the population anywhere to vote for Insanity!
Because once on the Dole, the population will never vote to stop their checks from arriving...
This is why America is a Republic, which can never be destroyed with one simple up and down vote and actually allows it's due process to allow the population to realize it's mistakes and correct them.
Which is what the people have been doing once realizing the level of Socialism the USA has slipped into.
Socialism just got Bitch Slapped on November 8th and has been since 2010...

Also to change our Voting System would take a Filibuster Proof Super Majority of 66 votes in the Senate to pass, a 51% majority in the House of Rep's and a President willing to sign it into Law.
With Republicans Firmly in control of all those branches of Government, It Ain't Gonna Happen for a Generation at least.
It's so funny to hear Hillary supporters Want to Abolish the Electorial College especially when it was that very way Bill Clinton Defeated George H.W. Bush in 1992 by having perot siphon votes away from Bush lol...
Also how the Electoral College helped deliver JFK to win in 1960.
If Hillary won the Race last Tuesday, The narrative how great and intelligent the Founding fathers were to give us the Electoral College is!
How quickly how some forget and how quickly the narrative changes to fit the Agenda...

Just wanted to bring one thing up, You said,
Why go back that far, to the roman era, considering we still use that system today in our state elections. All state representatives are voted in, in the manner you speak of, "A simple straight up and down popularity vote". It is only the presidential elections in which our vote, (we the people), really have no say. It comes down to our state's electors votes, and sure, they really should go on the basis of what their state voted for, but they don't have to, and in past elections, even recent one where the state had the popular vote pushing one guy, the elector went the other way.
On your next post,
Sounds like you're implying that Bush won the popular vote but lost the college electoral. If that is what you are saying, then you have your facts wrong. This year is the 6th time in history that the popular vote winner, lost the college electoral. (Depending on what resource, he is the 5th. They don't acknowledge JFK losing  the popular vote, they say he had won it, but more below about it.).
You have,
As for JFK, I am quoting here;
There are a lot of resources out there, but I will just publish the one wiki page,
Some resources don't even acknowledge JFK losing the popular votes, but I don't know, I wasn't even born yet. So I put it in anyways.
Overall, I talked to 0079 about what you were saying about getting the college electoral changed, but the odds of that happening, especially anytime soon is highly unlikely. Him and I talked about this a couple of days ago and pretty much like you said where it would need to get voted on, and I just don't see them voting for the change anytime soon. But it does look like some states are taking it upon themselves to change how the college electoral votes are done in their states. More in this news clip:

You have,
- 1824 : John Quincy Adams
- 1876 : Rutherford B. Hayes
- 1888 : Benjamin Harrison
- 1960 (disputed) : John F. Kennedy
- 2000 : George W. Bush
- 2016 : Donald J. Trump
As for JFK, I am quoting here;
Democratic candidate John F. Kennedy defeated Republican candidate Richard Nixon in the 1960 United States presidential election. Kennedy is generally considered to have won the popular vote as well, by a narrow margin, but based on the unusual nature of the election in Alabama, political journalists John Fund and Sean Trende have argued that Nixon actually won the popular vote.[6][7][8]

Yes the Democrats over the last Two presidential elections have been adjusting Precincts around and the number of Delegates per state to increase their Delegates in the states that they win in.
They also added wash DC with Delegates to vote towards the Electoral College.
This is something the Founding fathers were dead set against. They wanted Wash DC to be neutral ground for all parties, but the Dem's added DC with Delegates in 1961 after squeaking in JFK.
Wash DC was never intended to have partisan Voting taking place as a separate state like it is.
Hell the Congress even have been trying to add Two Senators there in Wash DC and Congressional Representatives in 2014!
This would mean if they had their way that their would be 102 Senators (plus the Vice President can vote in a tie brake situation)
Yes that means they wanted DC to be the 51st state only because they know that it would always be a Bureaucratic State that Votes Democrat Forever...
This is a great site to see how all elections have gone, who won which state....
Click to where it says "click to a starting view" to change the election year.
Always remember.
The Constitution was set up to Limit The Power of the Government and enable people to live with maximum Liberty. The Left like only pieces of the Constitution and cherry pick what they like.
Enforcing only parts of The Constitution is like saying Women can be "A Little Bit Pregnant".
It's either all or nothing!
Thank the SCOTUS For 240 years of trying to safeguard the Constitution, but lately having been failing to do so allowing Unconstitutional Laws to be passed.
Example:
The 14th Amendment offers equal protection of Voter Rights and other Rights by Making it Criminal to Discriminate on the basis of Color, Sex, Religion or Creed yet, the Country seems to have no problem with Affirmative Action Policy's which specifically are set to Hire people based in the Fact they are Minorities based in RACE!
How is that not a violation of the 14th Amend?
Justice is supposed to be Blind and it is NOT!
I can give countless examples of manipulations like this which limits the Liberty of people.

If you can't understand how dangerous it is with Propaganda tied to a media that is in lock step to having a simple Majority Rule then your not thinking clearly.
As In Rome the People Were Tricked into giving the Caesar Full Control with a Simple up and down Vote.
He then said "We don't need to vote anymore" Just like Hitler did.
And the people lost the right to vote.
I'm sorry if that does not sound an alarm to you.
Younger people just don't get it.
