My opinion on this is that Jay is right and he has been saying pretty much what I have been saying for the last year or so when Ryzen came out. Both are good in their own ways, and for most people, they won't know which is which in a blind experiment. So, overall, if your looking for the best bang for your buck, I would suggest AMD for now, and with the latest news that Intel has delayed their 10nm chips till 2019, and AMD is supposedly in the prototype phase of their 7nm chip. So I think AMD may actually pull ahead of Intel for the first time ever. So Intel will be still using 14nm for a year or two more.
